Mitt

The huge problem with this movie is that the filmmaker got absolutely zero access to Romney's political circle. As a result, this is only half of a movie. Or half of the movie it should be. But I don't really care. If they made a movie like this about every Presidential Candidate from now until the day I die, I would blindly watch every one of them. I love this shit.

Comes off very much a home movie for the Romney's to watch in 20 years. "Hey, remember that time I almost won the presidency and became the most powerful man in the world? That pesky tape must be around here somewhere!"

So Romney is human after all? And frankly more presidential than I had ever thought. Surprisingly interesting.

This is not a film about Romney's campaign strategy. Rather, it is about Mitt and his family's emotions and reactions to the stresses of running for president. I don't know how accurate its depiction of Romney is, but it feels sincere and whole, leaving me with a strong and favorable impression of him.

Never make a documentary about a dude failing to win an election then open it with his reaction to failing. It makes the next 90 minutes pretty unbearable, watching a dude just say "yeah OK I think I can win" over and over. How could you make this story boring? How?
