Humor when there's nothing else!

Lethargic, sleepy spin on Loachian material is heartfelt, but it’s frustrating that Aranoa’s screenplay can’t be more pointed and dissective of its characters and milieu; it gives the film a feeling of all build-up and no take off, establishing some interesting plot threads that never really take off (especially involving Bardem, who is ready to play as always, but isn’t given a great deal to work with). A better and sharper focus could have made this a superior social case study.

Watched first 15min. Humor is dry, there is no plot. And it aged badly.

Decent people facing a tough world along with their own inherent limitations as they try and recover from a bad circumstance. One of the best movies for showing that perspective in a relatable way. Bardem played the perfect "tough guy with a soft side". We all know that person right?

Great Flick!

Great acting and the mood captures perfectly the life of unemployed men.

Magnificient acting, especially by Bardem, but at times the movie gets as gray and boring as the life the protagonists lead.

bardem is a truly masterful actor, and it shows. this movie is great by sheer force of dialog, and great at that. a great plot that wraps up in a stunning ending.
