Monster Family

Well, it kept a 3rd grade class I subbed for occupied, that's something I guess. Cheap, lazily scripted, horrifically paced.

Worst pacing issues I've seen in a movie in a long, long while. The plot, on paper, is semi-decent. I loved Dracula's (albeit very unstable, clingy and stalkerish) character and the animation was solid. However nothing is enough to salvage the movie from it's editing and pacing issues. Scenes drag on for ages, there's a plethora of unnecessary scenes, character motivations serve the plot, not the characters. Insipid dialogue combined with an all-too-high fart count. Yikes.

Feels cheap, is cheap.

A real mixed bag of a family animation. Some parts are fun and charming, but there were legit times when I just wanted to turn it off. Not enough polish off the script with a adventure which didn't captivate.
