Like the other best Pixar movies, seemingly endlessly clever and funny, yet also captures a sense of magic and wonder that all the best fairy tales ought to have. I was so blissed after seeing this that I made a very stupid and dangerous turn in the car on the way home and received my very first ever moving-violation traffic ticket

Who was the better straight man for Billy Crystal: Danny DeVito, John Goodman, Jack Palance, Robert De Niro or Gheorghe Muresan? I think we can all agree it was Meg Ryan.

It's outstanding - but like much of Pixar's output it is incredibly self indulgent: it's a movie produced by men, written by men, directed by men, voiced by men, and animated by men, about corporate men's experience of fatherhood. How about next time they make a children's movie for... y'know... children? Stanton's regular claim "We don't make movies for anyone else, we make them for ourselves," never rang truer.

I liked Boo, she was cute. Sulley was nice. Mike Wazowski is a creep. The invisible lizard guy was really mean and I didn't like him. Boo's door was really cute, I liked it too. Didn't Mike have a teddy bear? Overall, I thought it was pretty good.

This is a cute kids movie, but I don't particularly care for either cuteness or children. That's not to say it's bad by any means, and I'd suggest it to elementary schoolers as a valuable part of their underage drinking entertainment.

Hilarious (high-energy, wise-cracking Mike is an absolute [actual] ball-"Roz, my tender, oozing blossom"-and has great chemistry with amiable big guy Scully) and heartfelt (I felt my heart melting at that final shot; Boo was absolutely adorable), with a clever premise that serves as the vehicle for a brilliant thematic thread commenting on the (actual) power of love, laughter, and creativity in the face of division, fear-mongering politics, and resignation to an unethical system of economics.

A step up from A Bug's Life and a pretty damn good kid's film on its own, thanks to its original premise and the fantastic chemistry between Sully and Mike. I didn't hate Boo as much as I thought I would either. Being a Pixar movie means stellar animation, voice acting and music are par for the course too.

Monsters, Inc. is a very good film, animated or live-action, aimed at children or adults. It simply doesn't matter when you have this type of quality production. I had fun, I was excited by some of the action scenes, I was genuinely attached to many of the characters, and I laughed quite a lot. And laughter, my friends, is much more important than fear. Don't forget that.

A lot of undeveloped possibilities that never got explored here because, imo, the studio would be too cowardly to expand on the existential quandaries here. This isn't the kind of movie that expects kids to be able to cope with that kind of thing. In fact, it's kind of a sanitized rip-off of Ahh! Real Monsters...but I appreciated that, in the end, because it was less crass & scatological. It's pretty cute & whimsical in the end, with real faerie tale magic.

a very fun adventure movie with some of the best jokes and running gags ever, Mike and Sully have a extremely strong relationship and Sully and Boo's relationship is the most wholesome thing ever, Randal is intimating enough but when you add Waternews as a villainy, The Conflict is really gets really difficult, but some problems was mike's love interest was pretty annoying, and in the middle act is a tiny TINY messy, and mike can cause a lot more conflict than he really should. but still great

It's a funny and interesting twist on the monster in the closet story. There is a bit of weakness in the premise as monsters are scared of humans and believe them to be dangerous, but you'd think this would have been disproven easily enough. Other than that though the story does well with the premise and makes an enjoyable adventure out of it. The characters are what really makes this movie shine, so many good roles in this movie. It's one of the Pixar greats in my mind.

But where Inside Out kinda drags on and the conflict is almost too subtle, this one is tight, focused, and resounding. Also the first CGI film I remember getting a ton of buzz (Sully's hair!!).
