A recently unearthed experimental documentary of the crashing sea set to Mendelssohn's "Fingal's Cave." An example of the filmmakers' "new cinema" theory which held that film should be more like music than literature. This film is based solely on its arrangement of images. (imdb)

Very similar to the Steiner shorts about water... but at least it's pretty.

Neat, even if I don't think it accomplishes the marriage of visuals and music in quite the harmonious manner it sets out to. Especially at the beginning, a lot of the cuts are off by a beat or two. I also don't particularly care for the music. It does strengthen towards the end.
