Moonshine Mountain

The first half is pretty light; like a hicksploitation hangout film with following a folk singer who is looking for inspiration among the locals. It has some comedy and musical numbers. It gets more serious in the 2nd half, but most violence occurs off-screen. It's a bizarre mismatch of genres, but it kept me entertained for the duration. Fans of 2000 Maniacs should check it out, as both films were released in the same year and share similar locations as well as some of the same cast.
