Not that bad. As soon as I started the movie I thought it would suck.. but it isn't that bad.

This film contains a few good spins on some typical plots and scenes. Worth a watch.

Against all odds this movie was quite entertaining. The director succeeds in making this a suspensfull thriller, with an unknown cast who all do a fairly good job. The characters all have something interesting about them wich makes you want to see the rest of the film. The final 20-25 minutes or so where a bit of a let down for me because the suspense we saw earlier makes way for mindless killing. But even that is good from time to time.

Top badass moment? Was good to see a nice collection of vinyl. So often nowadays people have consigned theirs to the attic or even (gulp) got rid of it. And with all the recent ‘plastic is evil’ news, it was helpful to see a demo of just how useful and versatile clingfilm can be, for keeping food fresh, emergency first aid, restraining people, suffocation... Also, if Mother was Prime Minister I think we’d have got a much better Brexit offer from the EU. No cats, chainsaws or decapitations.

Not my usual type of movie But Surprisingly Good Rebecca DeMornay gives whole new meaning to "Mama Bear"

It's a remake crediting its namesake as inspiration, but a complete overhaul of the script. As with all modern horror remakes, its attempt at sophistication is its downfall. It's offputtingly overwrought and contrived, and overflows with sketchy subplots of trifling melodrama in-between the torture porn. Do yourself a favor and watch the original (1980) Mother's Day. It is much simpler and vastly superior.

Poor remake, but stands on its own.

Too silly. Very little to recommend.

The psychological elements, the horror aspects, and the lovely Rebecca De Mornay are what attracted me to Mother's Day. Following this, Mother's Day still only has these points of appeal. This is not a bad movie, but little pacing, rollercoaster pacing, and the constant feeling for around an hour that the movie is coming to a close takes away from what is otherwise a great movie.

Pretty useless remake. Rebecca De Mornay was the selling ticket for it. Deborah Ann Woll was also nice to see out of vampire outfit, though she looked pretty same here.

Christ, I wasn't expecting a great movie, but I was hoping for a Mother's Day REMAKE, not a humorless home invasion film with a couple characters named Ike and Addley. Though considering it's by the director of Saw II, III, and IV, surprised it was actually watchable.
