Mothers and Daughters

A seeming imitation of Garry Marshall's '...DAY' movies, this assembles a fine female cast and wastes them on a mostly unlikable and abrasive array of characters, though the scenes between real-life Mother and Daughter Sarandon and Martino are elevated by the two actresses. Wild swings and shift in tone are not helped by arch and unbelievable dialogue, especially in the CHINATOWN-esque dynamic between Cox and Ricci, and the vaguely repellent sequences involving Blair and her doctor.
