The premise is a winner: a case of mistaken identity places a talentless actor, played by Lloyd, on a Hollywood set, presumably with the aim of creating complete chaos. Unfortunately that doesn't happen. Instead we end up with an intermittently funny film that suffers from long dull patches like Lloyd's previous talkies. Clumsy comic timing sabotages most of the laughs from the get-go, which is frustrating considering how perfectly executed the gags tended to be in his greatest silent works.

Probably the funniest Lloyd to me. Sure, it's the same gags over and over but that's part of the charm. He's not Keaton or Chaplin get over it people.

I gave it a few more years, but I still can't stand Harold Lloyd.

A stilted and awkward film. Harold Lloyd's more physical humor doesn't work all that well in a sound picture.

Lloyd made a hell of a lot of money in the 20's and became largely forgotten since because he didn't allow airing of his movie on television for years. Now that his work can be found on TV occasionally, he's still unrecognizable, but now it's because he just wasn't that entertaining.
