Munich: The Edge of War

Worst Hitler I've ever seen on screen so definitely recommended for a good laugh. History is revised and Chamberlain whitewashed, the claim that his signature helped to beat Hitler is 100% and widely confirmed misinformation. The movie expectedly feels like a discovery channel reenactment, the only grace being the fine acting. However Irons' Chamberlain is charming and thoughtful while the real man was a pompous dandy that put the safety of the conintent at stake with appeasement.

Irons is great (though the last minute whitewashing of Chamberlain's motivations aren't), it's just everything else is lacking. Feels like a 90's television movie with contemporary slick production standards.

I guess it's nice seeing George MacKay in a mature roll playing an adult.

Watchable with some decent performances but this historical fiction tale about two Oxford friends and their role in the build up to the beginning of WWII isn't that interesting when you know from history their attempts didn't happen and would narratively fail. Irons is the standout as Neville Chamberlain but the movie, particularly the end, paints the real life figure more favourably than history suggests is deserved, and that impacts the entirety of 'Munich' for me.

Thrilling spy story that will have you on the edge of your seat until the ending. I liked the young actors, great job!

Gripping thriller. Flat ending.

Decent war/spy movie. Story could have used a bit of a pick-me-up but the acting was good.

Munich: The Edge of War” is another slightly above-average entry in the sea of films contemplating World War II. While it struggles to find the most appealing avenue to tell its story, it manages to deliver decent performances and a captivating, suspenseful structure.
