Skillfully crafted and a believable portrayal of Miss Marple by the excellent Margaret Rutherford. Of it's time and rather cut crystal for todays tastes but has a clever mix of comedic style with some truly dark moments. An excellent cast with some early appearances by James Bolan and Ron Moody. Well worth watching; many could learn from this version of Marple.

The first of the Margaret Rutherford portrayals I've seen, and although I'm not sure how it compares to the original stories, I think it's safe to say this version of Miss Marple is definitely the most entertaining. Played with a great sense of humour, it's a long way from the prim and proper spinster you usually see. The rest of the film is decent enough. A nice whodunit, but nothing too taxing.
