A cool little slice of rock and roll history, but it just plays as a overview of all the great artists that played at the Muscle Shoals studio. The thesis of the film is basically "what a cool studio, look at all the cool bands that played here!", and that's not really much to build a great documentary out of.

Really not all that bad. Very interesting to learn all of the history at Muscle Shoals and the people behind the music there. The only surprising thing is that the music transitions between some scenes is a little abrupt.

A bunch of old white guys telling stories about when they were young and made some of the grooviest music of all time. Keith Richards looks like sh*t.

Music fans will know the importance of the songs and sound to come out of this studio, but the documentary is not all the in depth, and sort of just lines up song after song. No personal element here.

Well-done doc about the Muscle Shoals sound and Fame studios, which arose improbably amidst poverty. Most striking is how black and white musicians made fantastic music together in a place and time where segregation was still very much in place. Most of this was new information for me. Not the music, but the back story, so I enjoyed it.
