Top badass moment? WTF? This is a cautionary tale of what happens when you don’t go to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters and have a parental backstory to rival Batman’s. Sadly I have to report that once again in a movie, no PPE was in use with a chainsaw, (sorry trainers really aren't suitable), although I can’t begin to imagine what else would be required in this case. Kevlar panties? 12-22 decapitations (depending on how pedantic you are), 1 (uniquely powered) chainsaw and no cats.

I saw a teenage girl with a chainsaw sticking out of her butt being launched into a different teenage girl who had katana sticking out of her chest. The rest might not be great or classy, but that one scene is something I will take to my grave.

Unbelievable and so over the top, but it's hilarious. There's so much I could mention, but I only have to say one thing: A girl with a chainsaw coming out of her ass... Holy shitballs!

Genuinely surprised at the Israel/Palestine parallels going on here, what with the war between cultures and the weird prevalence of suicide bombing in the third act. If I were to take this to its conclusion this movie would be in the unfortunate position of placing Israel as the beleagured victim of the conflict. Thankfully that symbolism doesn't carry through the entire film, and instead it's a movie where a severed head floating on a cake gives an inspirational speech about crosscultural love.

Part of the new wave of Japanese gore comedy that left "sensible" so far back there must be generation ships involved. Basically X-Men meets The Machine Girl; As with most films in this genre, you just have to turn off your brain, stop going "Tell me I didn't just watch a girl with a chainsaw growing out of her ass fight a girl with tentacles for arms" and enjoy the ride. Also, you feel kind of full in a not entirely pleasant way by the end. But hey, it's all in fun.

Here is a movie that is so bad, stupid and over the top that it actually ended up becoming entertaining again.

Return to form for the director of The Machine Girl after a couple of disappointing movies. Insane mutations, buckets of overstyled blood and hit-or-miss humour set to a great soundtrack. It's loud, stupid and tasteless but has no pretensions of being anything else. If you want to spent 90 minutes doing double-takes while asking "did I really just see that?" then this is a movie for you.

these 3 directors are certainly masters of their genre, and this film was definitely a welcome addition, but i cant help feeling that they're repeatedly trying to recapture the magic of their very greatest films. maybe it's just high expectations on my part because i know their past work.. in any case, there's plenty of humor, plenty of splatter, several quirky/gross new ideas and tak sakaguchi in drag to keep you interested in this one

Could've been a little shorter. Great comedy, full of fun ideas, but got a little redundant after an hour or so. I believe this is the only movie I know, which has literally nothing normal in it.
