The Bounty leaves Portsmouth in 1787. Its destination: to sail to Tahiti and load bread-fruit. When they arrive at Tahiti, it is like a paradise for the crew, something completely different than the living hell on the ship... (imdb)

I like the older version better, Brando is not the right Christian, besides his voice is awful and he changes throughout the movie.

Great adventure in both setting and dialog....until the Intermission. To me the story loses momentum fast after they cast out Bligh and the ending felt abrupt. I prefer the earlier version.

Shot almost chronologically, which means you can watch the production unravel as they lose sight of Christian and Bligh's complexities, but it's fast paced and captivating as a sort of classics illustrated for-kids version of the story.

Shamefully undervalued and underappreciated epic, with Brando excellent (and really coming to the fore in the second half) and Howard in the performance of a lifetime as rigid bastard Bligh. Gorgeously filmed in an incredibly wide aspect ratio, and further enhanced by a powerful, muscular score and soundtrack. One of the great epics: powerful and passionate.

Fairly overblown. The last part (the death) was interesting though.

Loved watching the haughty English gentleman trying to maintain his disconnect in the face of sadism. To be thoroughly enjoyed, the cinematography of this film needs a big screen.

As far as 3 hour+ insanely expensive Hollywood epics go this is one of the good ones. The reconstructed HMS Bounty looks gorgeous in the extremely wide aspect ratio. Trevor Howard plays a solid villain and Marlon Brando isn't half bad either.

Very flawed movie, but scenes with Brando and Trevor Howard are remarkable.
