My Boyfriend's Back

An absurd, wacky 90's horror-comedy, it knows exactly what it is & rolls with that- for better & for worse. While there are definitely some positives, there are also a lot of major flaws, including a plot that rarely makes sense & a cast of characters who mostly feel like caricatures more than anything. Some of the humor lands, though, & there is a weird charm to the whole thing if you can accept the cheese of it. The performances aren't half bad, either. Not a must-see, but okay.

Matthew McConaughey is in it for like 10 seconds then BAM True Detective.

A dark comedy about a zombie that makes the girl of his dreams fall in love with him. A weird balance between annoying voice overs and out-of-place comic-book style transitions can't save this movie's terrible logic and plot twists.

A darkly absurd edge and many great lines make it definitely memorable. Has some dead weight in the form of a voiceover and comic book pages linking scenes together. The happy ending was all wrong.
