My Date with Drew

2004
Romance, Comedy
1h 30m
Ever since the second grade when he first saw her in "E.T. The Extraterrestrial," Brian Herzlinger has had a crush on Drew Barrymore. Now, 20 years later he's decided to try to fulfill his lifelong dream by asking her for a date. There's one small problem: She's Drew Barrymore and he's, well, Brian Herzlinger, a broke 27-year-old aspiring filmmaker from New Jersey. But that doesn't stop Brian and his film school pals from doing everything they can think of to convince Barrymore to go out with him -- and documenting their quest along the way. (DEJ Productions)

Well. I watched this film because I too had a crush on Drew Barrymore when I was a kid. For most people I imagine it would be boring and/or crass. The guy made a pretty good job of it. I mean you are not going to go into this expecting anything mind blowing. I was actually really nervous for him when he was about to meet her at the end(yes obviously he gets the date or the film wouldn't have got made, so don't tell me that's a spoiler.)

This is an interesting and entertaining. documentary. It inspires one to go for their dream. Drew Barrymore definitely comes across as a good sport in this film.

Quite possibly the most pointless and uninteresting documentary I've ever seen. The only time Brian Herzlinger was likeable to me was when he was waiting for Drew and was too nervous to open his mouth.

Simple concept that made for an interesting, very low-budget documentary.
