Does not present anything new, with a plot not very creative. But if you are not very demanding, may be a good passtime.

My bar was very low, but it was oddly not that bad. Strangely humble but with things happening still, a good pace in spite of the more trivial family issues in it. I'm not used to seeing couples being so supportive and in the end so honest in such comedies. The mom jokes and Meg Ryan's character are not very high brow, but it still has its moment. Not a movie to pay full price for, but if it's on tv, go for it I guess

A hyperbolic, meaningless, ridiculous, disappointing and, worst of all, repetitive mixture of dramedy and action film. A lot of its "subplots" could very well not exist, but I suppose you need some filler in order to make a feature film out of such a meagre main idea. Meg Ryan is very unlikable whereas Antonio Banderas predictably switches on his mediocre, overplayed Latino lover mode.

To quote Fanny Brice - this is a bagel on a platefull of onion rolls. It's a rom-com without being a chick-flick. The humour is much more male oriented which makes this something of a pressured marriage, never quite sparking into life. Nothing too bad, fairly traditional and uninspired but nothing to take offence at

Seems like a guys humor in a romance comedy which is probably why the film is so underrated. But that's just because there are so few guys out there that are actually in touch with their feelings.
