My Wife's Relations

The set up is ridiculously contrived, but the payoff is pretty damn good and funny.

"My Wife's Relations" isn't representative of Keaton's career as it drags for a while before the good/ funny part starts. But when it does start, nothing prevents him from almost bringing down a whole house.

The idea is absurd and quite stupid and most of the gags aren't that good. Definitely not one of Buster Keaton's best.

only worth it in the ladder half, and there aren't too many good gags. it's still a pretty decent watch. i feel like it could have been a heck of a lot better if the lady in question wasn't actually frighteningly ugly.

There were a couple funny gags, but this one felt a bit basic and never really came together all that well.

Wow... different times. Just found out you've been married in a ceremony in a foreign language? OK, then, just go with it. I was pretty excited that this one managed to do without Keaton's usual reliance on running from the cops ... until the very end. Favorite part: the butler doing a backflip after being hit by a brick.

Average Keaton's slapstick film.

Needed better gags.

Average. The end kind of redeems it, but it's pretty slow moving. I also felt like it was more cruel than most.
