Normally I'm a big fan of pizza and pizza parties, but not this time. Movie might hold the record for most Saxophone Soloist instrumentals in a feature film (with 5). I guess it is a good film for a date (if you are living in the 80's). What's with Kat (or as her friends call the nerd "Kitty Kat") not wearing a freakin helmet when she rides her nerdy little electric moped/bike thing. Is that allowed in Mystic? Cool Dart/Tequila trick. Have to try that one day.

Adorable and heartfelt little 80s chick flick. The debonair New England setting adds to the vintage charm. Julia Roberts has never been more beautiful.

It's an enjoyable, funny enough watch if you have reasonably tempered expectations. The actual pizza does not look very good..

After a wobbly start, this meat-and-potatoes romantic drama finds its footing in the fresh and spontaneous performances of its three leads - Gish, Taylor and (especially) Roberts are delightful here, bringing some distinction to basically familiar, growing pains material which wouldn't be out of place in teen drama TV of the 90s. Runs a little long, hampered by a barely-there "subplot" involving a restaurant critic, but still enjoyable, especially as viewed through the "star-maker" lens.

A amiable little drama which ranks somewhere between TV movie of the week territory and kind-of-sort-of-worth-your-time-if-you-have-nothing-better-to-do-than-checking-out-what-Matt-Damon-and-Vincent-D'Onofrio-were-doing-back-in-the-eighties territory. However, be warned: Those hoping to find a pizza holding the answers to religious questions in this film will come up frightfully short.

There's something about the charming seaside small town setting that makes the rather fluffy and one-dimensional plot lines sit well in the end, creating a pleasant, down-to-earth vibe that's sprinkled with enough boy-drama (married man and virgin; rich kid and waitress; marriage-ready man and free spirit girl) and sweetness (Ferrell and the mild restaurant storyline are a nice touch) to keep you engaged, if not captivated. Nothing too deep or unique here, but nothing offensive.

Overall a pretty good movie. All-star cast (before they were stars). This is the definition of a chick-flick. Three girlfriends each with their own unique guy problem. Entertaining.

Not bad, not great. Less campy than Grease, but similar, as a coming of age story showcasing different types of girls (the bookish straight-laced one, the free spirit, the slut with a heart of gold) and types of guys to match (working class boy with traditional values, philandering older man, rich playboy with a heart of gold.) I wouldn't seek it out to sit through it again, although nothing about it was terrible.

I hadn't actually heard of this until it was feeatured in Entertainment Weekly's 2013 reunions issue. I was kinda shocked; usually I have at least some familiarity with the shows and movies featured, but this? No idea. So I got the DVD cheap, and well, it's a pretty decent little trifle. Nothing world-changing but a pleasant, sweet rom-com that's distinctly '80s without feeling dated. Excellent cast chemistry - easy to understand why EW felt they'd be a good group to reminisce.

Nice film about small town girlfriends and their relationship with each other and their men friends. Watch for a 17 year old Matt Damon in his film debut. He has at least one line. Many of the cast went on to pretty big careers but interesting that "bit part" Damon has become on of our greatest actors. Film isn't anything special but ok for a nostalgic look into the 80s

Underrated, but more-so underseen, gem. A winning cast of then unkowns with great chemistry, and a simple well-told story of youth.
