Mythica: The Darkspore

Retains all of the many shortcomings of the first installment, but loses the sense of adventure. The series took a serious nose dive for me here, but I'm getting a suspicion that the first might not have been anywhere near as entertaining as I had first appraised it to be.

When you're 36 and have seen every film by Truffaut, Lynch, Bunuel, Hitchcock, and Kurosawa (Akira...okay, the other Kurosawa too) , you will eventually cast that line deep into the murky abyss that is Amazon Prime and catch some low budget adaptation of a D&D game session played by those annoying "serious" players who get angry when you cast Silent Image to get out of bar brawls. If it was against the spirit of the game, why is it IN THE FUCKING GAME, Jeremy? Oh, Mythica is 90s TV adequate.

Mythica: The Darkspore is the second installment of this low-budget fantasy series. I enjoyed this more than the first film and great to see Matthew Mercer from Critical Role as necromancer Szorlok.

Second installment of the low budget Mythica trilogy. And this adventure was just as dull and generic as the first one....

When Teela's sister is murdered & it turns out that powerful relic has been stolen, Marek & her friends must face a new sinister enemy - Kishkumen, a powerful mage on a mission to find the darkspore for his master Szorlok. . Armed with two secret cards, Marek & her team race against Kishkumen through monster landscapes to ancient abandoned underground city. Accompanied by mysterious warrior Qole, team travels deep underground to discover that the devastated city is now home to an immense dragon.
