Based on the real-life criminal Sukumara Kurup, 'N.H. 47' has Abu Dhabi-based NRI Sudhakaran Pillai (T.G. Ravi), with the help of his wife's brother-in-law, Bharghavan Pillai (C.I. Paul) & pal Sunny (Sreenath), faking his own death to claim 30 lakhs in insurance money. For this, they kill a medical rep, Rahim (Sukumaran) & burn his body in Sudhakaran's car, to pass it off as him. In real life, Sukumara Kurup is still a fugitive, but the film shows Sudhakaran Pillai as being brought to justice. (Summary by iceblox)
