An Antonioni semi-documentary short about street cleaners. Rather light on content, but it has some interesting, often lyrical moments. Most of them are probably staged, but that's okay.

Begins with a speech about how we know little of the lives of these workers, but, as in GENTE DEL PO, Antonioni doesn't seem particularly interested in discovering too many of the details of those lives. Still, we get some sense of the flavour of their existence, along with a few hints at this filmmaker's interest in framing small figures against the backdrop of a large, geometric landscape frame.

Michelangelo Antonioni's 2nd short documentary is ostensibly about street sweepers in Rome, but is really a beautifully poetic little city symphony in miniature with images set to music and no real plot to speak of.
