Feels a bit implausible, and perhaps a bit slight, but gets away with it due to some likeable, natural performances from the young 'uns and a couple of decent songs. Gets bonus points for a brief appearance from Lester Freamon from The Wire. The bairns liked it.

Effortlessly funny and charming in a way few films are, Nativity! is to Christmas movies as Outnumbered is to British sitcom - a fun premise elevated by kids strong at improvisation and supported by an able adult cast. (Outnumbered is probably better, objectively, but Nativity! is fantastic fun nonetheless.)

Yes I know its had bad reviews but how enjoyabe! Love the guy from the office (cant act) love the girl from Extras (good looking). You would have to be a sour faced person with no kids not to enjoy this bundle of joy. Who cares its corny, the kids are adorable and it leaves you with exactly the feeling you should have when watching a Christmas film - maybe I'm not so tough as I thought! Essential Christmas viewing.

Freeman's straight-laced, serious-faced Mr. Maddens and Wootton's boisterous, child-at-heart Mr. Poppy make for a hilarious pair; add in a white-lie-explosion plot and a rag-tag class of adorable kids with British accents singing Christmas songs and there's plenty to smile at here. Maddens' heartbreak and the underdog school motif add some extra emotion (the letters to Santa scene is especially heart-touching) but they could've been milked for more, and everything resolves much too easily.

Martin Freeman alone can't save this from being a total disaster. Very annoying.

Goes exactly how you think it will and is not as charming as it thinks it is. It has this annoying kid similar to the one from "The Blind Side" who made me want to take a bullet.

I don't understand what this movie is for. The dialogue, characters and plot seem to be so brain meltingly simple that it's aimed squarely at very young children, but there's an overall air of mawkish sentimentality, and Martin Freeman in general, that seems to be aimed more at the parents. Either way, it is mostly insufferable, but the kids in it are quite cute.

well, I suppose Nativity is a classic example of a film, watched at the right time, with the right company, in the right mood. I can imagine this would not work as well for a single guy, just dumped by his girlfriend when she realised he was impotent. But I found it terrific fun; a bit like "School of Christian Rock" without the annoying Jack Black. I like Martin freeman because he can play "normal" better than most, and for a partially improvised film, it was pretty damn good. The kids were ace

Euhhh. What to say? I found it hard to get enthused about any aspect of the film, i was watching Martin Freeman and Marc Wootton thinking "is this it, is this the best you can do?", the story is pretty soppy but I suppose the nativity the kids perform is ok? I guess? I was just expecting more comedy or entertainment from this film. It just lacks any sort of sparkle or shine.

Martin Freeman is great as always, Ashley Jensen almost equally so, but beyond that this film has very little to offer. You could do far worse I guess, it has some charming moments, it's just really hard to get properly excited about.

Excellent in showing both how boring and meaningless nativity plays and brits are.
