Near Death

There are countless documentary films and TV programs about dying/death, but almost without exception these rely on voyeurism and titillation to engage the viewer. In documenting dying/death in an institution, Wiseman applies his singular approach to absolutely avoid and indeed critique such lazy film making. What he manages to achieve is a masterpiece; an authentic film (in the Heideggerian sense) about institutional dying/death.
