This film is based on "Our Sunshine" by Robert Drew, a novel based on the life of Australian bushranger and icon, Ned Kelly. It tells of his life as a bushranger in north-west Victoria, where he lived all his life. He, his brother Dan, and two other men, Steve Hart and Joe Byrne, formed a gang. Overlooked gem about a 19th century Australian outlaw. The handful of people who saw this were not surprised by Ledger's master turn in Brokeback Mountain. Imperfect, but for what it is, it's quite good.

Loved it at the time but not I feel I might not. Need to re-watch this.

Just terrible. No good performances anywhere, with Bloom in particular unsurprisingly awful. Too long, too bland, and poorly made.

Rubbish. The acting was appalling, especially the accents. Don't even bother with this one.

This is one of those films that I'm torn on rating, because I can barely remember what happens. In this case I'm fairly sure it's an indication of how forgettable it was. Seeing as I'm here, hey Orlando Bloom, you suck!

Relatively entertaining. The focus seems to be too much on Heath Ledger and not enough on other aspects and other important characters.

Some nice cinatography, but ultimately not enough going on to keep the viewer interested. Geoffrey Rush is capable of so much more than this.

Ned Kelly is based on a true story. The film that resulted from this story is a mess. From under-utilizing talent to including subplots that don't go anywhere, Ned Kelly never gels together to create a solid film. And that's before we come to realize that our lead character, the man that we're supposed to be rooting for, is nothing but an olden day terrorist who shoots cops and robs banks. I was drawn in by the stars, but repelled by how poor the film was. Definitely avoid this one.

The Teen Heartthrob Gang versus a criminally underused Geoffrey Rush. Seriously, how can you cast Geoffrey Rush as a police commander and not give him more than 8 lines for the entire movie? The man played Inspector Javert, for crying out loud. Anyway, watch this if you can drool over this cast without a single one of them taking their shirts off.
