Just like that desert movie with Casey Affleck I turned this off after 40 depressing minutes of nothing happening, and as I left my friends house in a sad, bleary state (the movie killed our hanging out -- we just gave up and I went home) I questioned why do I even watch movies because this is so much a dark, dreary hole of nothingness that it makes you forget temporarily that movies can exist in a bright, free, enlivening world, not just a broken, dead, dusty realm of despairing ennui.
