Bond suggests that maybe they’re using an artificial eyeball for the movie’s plot happening and everyone he works for is all “Bond that’s nonsense” Are you all fucking high? That’s the most grounded thing to ever happen in a Bond movie. A middle aged uncomfortably hairy man with a bad hairpiece went to bed with 4 women who all made the first move. I need some hair on these shoulders.

Never Say Thunderball Again. Unnecessary although interesting. Should've remade On Her Majesty's Secret Service just to get Connery into the role, although I heard he was nervous how he'd stack up against Lazenby. I didn't hear that. Nobody heard that.

Big name power, crappy theme song, regular action. It's generally accepted that the 80's were very unkind to Bond, which is true for this movie, but I can't hate it as much as is the average consensus, just because it has enough explosions for me.

Connery's return brings a welcome reprieve from the awful one-liners that became tiresome; the first script in years that's easy to follow; 2 great villains (especially the homicidal Fatima Blush, so it's awful that she's killed with a ridiculous contrivance); a solid motorcycle chase & even a shoehorned-in video game standoff that's actually pretty compelling. So everything's more grounded, but this is still formula (women still become instantly horny for Bond) & it lacks any spectacular stunts

It's terrible but I can't bring myself to hate a film where James Bond faces down his nemesis through a videogame of Risk, and escapes death by riding a horse off a hundred meter cliff into the ocean.

"Never Say Never Again", one of the few non-Eon Bond films, feels rather uneven - quite tense at times and rather plodding at others - but still comfortably above par. Connery is on good form as always, deshpite him opting for "sh" inshtead of "s" thish time round. Brandauer is a fine villain, Kim is less of a piece of wood than most Bond girls and Rowan Atkinson turns in a pleasant performance in his first movie role. The disgraceful miscastings of M, Q and Moneypenny aside, this is good fun.

It's not quite as bad as everybody says it is - in fact, it gets downright entertaining for awhile when it reaches the sequence in the casino. Unfortunately, it's marred by a WAY-too-long running time - the first hour could probably have been cut down to about 15 minutes and nothing of value would have been lost. Worth watching as a curiosity for Bond fans, but I wouldn't recommend it to anybody who isn't already obsessed with the series.

Never Say Thunderball Again. Connery returns to what would've felt eerily familiar had I not known the production backstory. While Thunderball was ambitious but poorly executed, this film has the opposite problem. The dialogue & direction (at least scene-to-scene) are better, but the film lacks the overall fun one expects from a Bond film. Atkinson was an "interesting" choice. Basinger was dull. Brandauer & Carrera are a villainous variety of crazy & easily the most entertaining bit of the film.

A lot better than Octopussy from the same year. This is the Bond with the 2 bombs (yes, why always a bomb? :D), Kim Basinger and the weird video game duel (I mean WTF am I watching here..). Thank you for coming back Sean Connery! And ehhhh.. did I just see Mr. Bean?!

The worst James Bond movie ever made, and the only one I've ever seen only once. Which makes sense, because it's a fake Bond movie not made by the real producers. It can't decide if it wants to be a parody or a "real" Bond movie, and the music is awful. I view it as a James Bond fanfic.

Call me crazy, but in watching all of the Bond films in order this one sticks out amidst Moore's work. In some ways it even exceeds Thunderball, which it remakes; while some of the characters do not have the same depth, the pacing is much, much better due to the lack of long, incoherent underwater sequences and the presence of a real director behind the camera in Kershner.

Expected this to be terrible but it wasn't that bad. The humour is unnecessary but at least it has a wry touch and is delivered better than Moore's woeful slapstick. Connery, despite his age, still looks fitter and more spy-like(?) than Moore's pension-age Bond. Fatima Blush is a great villain, played to epic levels of crazy, and there's some solid action. It really suffers from not having the production values and style of the official Bond films, but it's still an entertaining piece.

I loved Thunderball and even though that didn't need a remake, it's nice to see the King back for one more Bond. I like Moore but Connery reminds us very quickly who the real James Bond is. Has some great action sequences, a hot Bond girl (nice nipples, Kim) and a lot more fun. I was expecting this to be shitty based on people saying Connery was fat (are you crazy?) and old but he's so good it's hard to hate. Loved Connery winking into the camera at the end, a perfect conclusion for him.

The only serious non-canonical Bond film, and a remake of THUNDERBALL at that. It improves upon that film by not getting so bogged down underwater, by changing up the geography, and by having better villains; Klaus Maria Brandauer is a great suave scumbag, and Barbara Carrera at her best matches Xenia Onatopp. There's too much goofiness, though (the videogame face-off is HIGH camp), and a lot of the humor misfires. But it's good to see Sean Connery again, and there's some fine action on display.

It starts out and goes on for a while in a terrible way. Cheap, lazy exposition, effects bad even for the time, and obviously, quite the inexplicable and bad copy of past real Bond movie elements. Some of the action sequences or places visited were unusual, and Fatima was a fun villain, but otherwise it left much to be desired. The final fight was underwhelming. My dad loved the scene where James Bond actually throws his piss into someone's face

That was, interesting? There are moments where the bigger budget shows, but most of the time it feels very second rate, especially when someone who isn't a lead has to speak. Much of the film has no flow and the narrative somehow makes less sense than Thunderball, which it's a remake of. All that said, Connery really does have a special something in the role, and by acknowledging his age it provides some unique reflective moments that the Moore films lack.

People calling this the worst James Bond movie are idiots, because it's definitely better than Thunderball. Kershner actually knows how to make a movie unlike John Glen or Lewis Gilbert, but the script sucks and for whatever reason, nobody has realized that putting James Bond underwater is a recipe for disaster. That said, the video game shock duel and the shot of the horse figurine falling off the miniature castle are the two greatest things I've seen in my entire life.

Never Say Never Again is the unofficial Bond film that saw Sean Connery return to the role for a second time after more than 10 years. This remake of 'Thunderball' went up against Roger Moore's 'Octopussy' in the same year. And neither Bond films that year where by any means memorable. But this is certainly the worst of the two and arguably the worst Bond film of them all. This film may boast the return of Sean Connery, but it lacks all the other ingredients that make a successful Bond film.

It isn't as bad as its competition, but having an actual A-Hollywood director kind of sapped the fun a little. Plus, well, it's a Thunderball remake. I understand the rights conflict and all that, but Thunderball is, was, and may always be he most widely seen Bond film--everyone knows where the film is going, so what is the point in seeing a shinier version?

Among some stiff competition I believe this one has the dubious distinction of being the very worst Bond movie. Mainly because more good actors are wasted here than usual, and also because Basinger is such a dog

A bit clunky, a bit silly, but the actors do a pretty decent job. Great villain and then there's Connery: who cares if this isn't part of the franchise, even with a silly script Connery still blows Moore out of the water.

Rewatched. Given the backstory on this production, I'm kind of surprised SPECTRE didn't win this one. Also surprised that the guy who directed Empire Strikes Back followed that masterpiece with this disinterested tripe. There's a good fight and there's Mr. Bean and of course Connery with his creepy George Hamilton tan - but otherwise, It just isn't very good. No point in painting by numbers if you can't even connect the dots...as they say.

Interesting but flawed. Connery has greatly improved his give-a-shit since Diamonds, and it's nice to see an older Bond AS an older Bond instead of whatever Moore was in Octopussy. The lower production value actually works favorably by bringing back a bit of the grit lacking in the Moore era. Definitely the first to feel distinctly 80s. Unfortunately, the score is terrible, the editing is suspect, and there are a few short scenes that are just awful.

There are many bad things in this film. But the lack of Bond music is probably the worst. Connery is still great as Bond and I liked some of the old man jokes, but every single scene is overly long and boring. Fatima Blush is a highlight even though she goes way too overboard.
