Ever wonder what a Haneke film would look like if it boiled over?

The beginning was really great; good musical choice and awesome imagery/montage of what we will see later. There are also a lot of shocking moments because it's unflinching in its brutality... but at the same time it sort of normalizes itself and I started to drift on occasionally. I would eventually be snapped back but I feel like a movie like this shouldn't make my mind wander at all.

Sert, realist, çirkin 1 tavır takınan film, savaşın iğrenç yüzünü, seyirciye tokat gibi vuruyor. Masumiyet diye 1 şey yok. Kötü Robin Hood'lar. Filmin sonunda, Umut yok. Savaşın sonunu sadece ölüler görür.

Reminded me of a bunch of stuff I won't namedrop - a very mixed bag. People like to compare Franco to Haneke, and sure, I can see a bit of Caché in this, I suppose, but Haneke has an obnoxiously didactic brand of misanthropy that's absent here. This I liked a lot. Its portrayal of an imaginary dystopian revolution isn't for the faint of heart, it's utterly provocative in its grisliness; but takes no excessive joy in its mayhem, and it's thought-provoking rather than preachy or patronizing,

The coup attempt, the class conflicts, the uprisings and the bloody face of the government. New Order is a frustrating, compelling film.
