This one is not as good as the first in the series. There are plenty of amusing moments in this one, not all of the jokes work. John Witherspoon steals the movie with his entertaining performance. Overall I would recommend this one for fans of the first movie.

Most of the stuff that actually took place around the uncle’s house passed the bar for what I’d consider mildly energetic & amusing. The final fight didn’t work nearly as satisfyingly or amusingly as the comparable sequence in the first film though. Also a bit grim that nearly 100% of the dad’s screen time is dedicated to dog poop, farting & diarrhea. Awkward moment when the “fat” girl Ice Cube is repulsed by is probably in the bottom 20th BMI percentile for ghetto chicks 23 years later lol

A lazy copy of the first movie, complete with a watered-down replacement for Chris Tucker, and lame weed jokes.

It's got a few really funny bits spread throughout some really unfunny garbage. Sad because the first one was quite enjoyable.

Gross & obnoxious humor from gleeful uninhibited characters who are embarrassingly stupid. Amazing, disgusting, sometimes unfunny, sometimes funny. For the strong of heart or black.

Doesn't come close to the original Friday. This is still a solid movie. The Friday series progressively falls off the map. Don't watch any of the other after this one.

Not horrible, but not nearly as good as the original.

Unfortunately, isn't half as funny as the first movie. Not only for not having Chris Trucker, but mainly for not having the essence of the first film.

Meh. Maybe you have to be black? I thought some of it was funny, but I remember the first one being better.

Ho-hum sequel finds Cube moving to the burbs, but the song remains the same, only this time it comes without a 'message'. The opportunities to satirize the falsity of surburban life were rife, but Cube/Pooh zero in on lame gags that reinforce racial stereotypes, pandering to their target audience. Epps is a so-so substitute for Tucker. He gets the job done, but he provides little in the way of humour, and even Witherspoon doesn't really deliver apart from a funny scene in a gas station toilet.

There was so much potential for a solid follow-up to the hilarious and heartwarming 'Friday,' that this sequel's disappointments are made all the more egregious. The entire plot of Debo breaking out of prison is nothing more than a red herring for the film's sideways chain of events, which becomes a sizable letdown in the face of the ending's predictability and farcical nature. Actually, the whole film just feels a lot more farcical compared to 'Friday,' in the worst of ways.
