Night Raiders

Despite an odd misstep about halfway through the film, it's an entertaining genre outing with a lot to say about colonization and assimilation. It's really nice to see examples of representation in genre films that don't amount to simply recasting the same big budget spectacles and really focus on telling a familiar story from a very different point of view.

A tad cliched and at this point feel like we’ve been a bit overrun with dystopian future where they steal the kids and they have to get out. Manages to be unique in its point of view though. Using the NDN lens to frame the story makes it more interesting than most. It doesn’t feel like it’s catering too much and feels organic.

The social commentary is good albeit very in your face but that comes with the genre. The ending was definitely a little underwritten and trying to pack too many things into it but I enjoyed it.
