Night of the Blood Beast

Probably the worst pregnant man movie I've seen so far. It really sucks sitting through a piece of shit like this and finding out it was an MST3K after the fact

A serviceable script that's ill served by its Soap Opera actors and dopey monster. What The Thing could have become if placed in lesser hands. [MST3k was an especially cruel round of Riffing, making a real turkey with all the trimmings. The Thanksgiving version has the better skits and makes for the gravy on top.]

I thought the story was pretty good even if the Special Effects were bad. This movie would really benefit from a big budget remake similar to what they did with The Fly, The Thing, or The Blob.

A low budget but somewhat entertaining movie. Nothing special, but it could have been a lot worse. I don't regret seeing it.

Mostly boring. And just what the hell exactly is a Blood Beast, anyway? The thing on the screen just looked like some bottom feeder from the Black Lagoon.

Years before _Junior_, Emmet played the world's *real* first pregnant man. Everybody in this movie looks very dour and serious but this is still a howl, with (an often shirtless) Emmet going way over the top as the defiled hero whose obsessive relationship with the monster makes this look like the first Hollywood movie about a gay couple.

Pretty terrible movie, and which one of them exactly is Steve? Steve, goddamnit, they are all Steve. Good MST3k.

Roger Corman produced this one based on a story by his brother Gene, but it's helmed by super discount movie guy Bernard L. Kowalski, right before directing the low budget masterpiece "Attack of the Giant Leeches". This is no masterpiece. It's pretty cheap and shoddy and kind of dull. Ed Nelson does an okay job, but about half the cast are beyond awful. The alien looks like a parakeet covered in seaweed.

Low budget and straining to stretch its plot to a full hour, sure, but it does have a certain Cormanesque attitude that serves it well. Which is a must when it depicts NASA as half a dozen guys in a fruit truck.
