Nightmare City

A beardy journalist and a staggeringly inept military fail utterly in dealing with a load of manky, but well-organised and well-armed, radioactive zombies (who seem to have a breast fixation, and can operate garden machinery). The effects are pretty subpar, ditto the acting and dialogue. There aren't many shocks, but plenty of laughs (the TV "disco" show was a belter), and the gloriously poor ending seems entirely appropriate. Rubbish, ludicrous, but strangely enjoyable.

A good example of the addled Italian ripoff-cinema with moderately terrible everything. Lots of amusing elements and hectic carnage but quickly starts to feel aimless and disjointed. Hilariously incompetent military and ridiculous out-of-place philosophising are the best bits. Pure unapologetically served trash.

Cheesy Italian "mutant-vampire-zombie-crazies" B-movie with heaps of cheap laughs and gore. Full of chaotic boob stabbing nonsense and boring characters and "plot" with a memorable ending, to say the least. Worth a watch for fans of bad movies and low-rent horror.

This is yet another lousy fill-in-the-blanks Spanish-Italian zombie epic in which, once again, we're reminded that "Ya gotta shoot them in the head!" Somebody get me a gun! Loads of cut-rate gore and Ferrer strictly along for the ride. Funniest scene: the zombies attacking an "American Bandstand"-style TV dance show.

How the hell do you rate something like this? It's easily the dumbest thing I've ever laid eyes on, but therein lies the genius of it. And make no mistake- epic, prime cut, grade-A stupidity like this needs to appreciated like the very finest of wines. It's the kind of dumb that can make you puke blood, but it's totally worth it.

Decent fun with all the bad acting, the nonsensical plot and the great ending.

Low grade hokum that is reknowned in cult film circles for being the first zombie film with fast zombies, so for cheap horror buffs it has some novelty, but for the rest of us it's simply an ineptly made gorefest that lacks a strong sense of identity. In short, Lenzi really had no idea what he was doing, serving up one poorly cheographed action scene after the next with no imagination or style. A setpiece in an amusement park held promise, but it's predictably squandered by Lenzi's incompetence.

No fillers and unnecessarily long dialouges here - just non-stop attacks by boobie-loving mutants, shootings and gore. Ending is dissapointing, but overally it's a great genre flick.

I hoped on another viewing, a little older, I would be amused by this, but it's become a tedious film as well as a bad one. Only one tone exists as I was barraged by images of super zombies killing people and than even more people after that again and again, an apocalyptic scenario that eventually collapses into repetitive schlock. The tiring, serious ponderings of the main character's wife later on when it fails to succeed to be a good exploitation film don't help win it any favours either.

This is often described as a zombie film, but in truth it's closer to something like 28 Days Later - ie., the menace comes in the form of infected, but still living, people. In any event, it's all a bit ridiculous, as one would expect from Lenzi, but it moves at a good clip and has a certain charm.

Most of the gore is well done. Some of it is disgusting. The hilarious bad acting and general off-ness keep things fun.

That blonde girl is deep enough to bring us philosophic quotes, in the midst of all that epidemic holocaust.

Great. Watch this before Rodriguez's "Planet Terror". Its zombies are quite similiar to Snyder's Dawn of the Dead (they are fast)

Started fun but quickly began to drag, all the wat to a really cheap ending.

I dunno what it is, but there's something going on here. Probably from the first massacre scene when that music starts playing, we're in a different zone. Something about this even got under my skin a bit, maybe it's the timing, since I am living under a state of emergency due to a rampant virus. Feeling like it could be a lot worse after watching this amirite?

Very entertaining and watchable zombie film that has several moments that reminded me of scenes in modern day horror films. Also owes a debt to Romero's Dawn of the Dead and Fulci's Zombie.

Lots of great 80's, Italian zombie action... but lots of cheese make it hard to totally love.

Of course there's enough to criticize in this, not least of all the horrible ending ever and inconsistency in the intelligence of these infected zombies (They seem to be as smart as the plot needs them to be at that moment), but don't let that spoil the fun in this pure entertainment exploitation movie.

weird as all hell, but I can't get enough of zombies, no matter how bad the movie, so I'm recommending y'all check this one out.
