Not quite as good as Hannah Takes the Stairs, but I'll never turn down this much Greta Gerwig. She continues to be absolutely perfect in everything I've seen her in. This is no exception.

One of those movies where if you're on its vibe every moment can shatter you. A lot said in how things are said, how people touch each other and the silence that sits in a conversation. Gerwig is great.

Pure romance, not much else. Plays out like an acoustic version of "Like Crazy". Greta has some knock out scenes in this struggle of a love story.

A modest but highly accomplished study of how young lovers really interact when they're alone with each other, including honest looks at sex - something which I think Swanberg had botched in his first film, Kissing on the Mouth, but nails this time. I think this will either bore you or fascinate you, depending on what movies are to you. I was quite fascinated.

"If Cassavetes's films inspired future filmmakers with their DIY aesthetic, then Swanberg and Gerwig's efforts seem calculated to discourage enthusiastic amateurs from getting anywhere near a camera." - Andrew Schenker

That Greta Gerwig doesn't mind getting naked, does she? Let's just call this one a "sparse" examination -- but not really -- of a long-distance relationship between two sort of likable -- but not really -- characters that never completely gets off the ground. It does what it can with what must've been a microscopic budget and some passages of dialogue do pack an emotional punch but there's little new territory being mined here. And a shout out to me for not using the "m" word once. (pats back)
