I liked the cast in this a lot. The story is muddled and it needed a better score.

There was some nice and creepy scenes in the very beginning. The story itself or majority of the film was predictable and not well made at all. Patricia Arquette was a big let down.

Competent but doesn't spend enough time building suspense. Not enough red herrings either, could have been freakier.

I love Ewan McGregor. He certainly doesn't disappoint in this film. Nice little twist at the end as well. Makes me want to work in a morgue.

This is a dumpy, chunky, unpleasant movie.

This movie films fear. It is near impossible to write a character's tension into a script, but that is what Ole was able to do with a little help from no-name Steven Soderbergh. It's rare that I'd recommend a remake over the original, but the American revision with its incredible cast sells all the right points of the original and realistically, you're not going to track down the original even though it features Jaime Lannister's genitals.

Not the worst movie I've ever seen, but it's not good either. The violin screeches are SO annoying and overused

Whatever else you can say about this thing, Nolte was amazing.

The supposed whodunit driving the plot is uncommonly easy to foretell. I mean, there isn't exactly an abundance of suspects to choose from. Regardless, the director makes energetic use of wide lenses and deep focus and some disconcerting sound effects to show how wide-eyed law student Ewan McGregor is overpowered by his joyless, cavernous workplace. There is a handful of terrific suspense sequences and Josh Brolin steals all his scenes.
