I'm sorry, but in these "man-child must finally grow up" narratives, isn't the guy supposed to be fairly useless & immature? Being hesitant or unenthusiastic about becoming a parent doesn't make you a bad person. There is enough drama to be found in handling an unplanned pregnancy that the "Samuel needs to man up" plot and wacky side characters just aren't necessary. And, by the way, finding Tom Arnold irritating doesn't make you an asshole, it just means that you probably aren't blind and deaf.

I've never wished I could leave minus numbers before. What a revolting film. It's so thick with this ideology of... EVERYBODY MUST want to be a parent, and it's so forced, and it's so... ugly. I hated it. I genuinely hated it and actually despised the people who MADE it as much as I hated the movie itself. It's not just a bad movie, it's a horrible message to try to put across.

Withough neurotic Hugh Grant this movie could get more points (because of brilliant supporting role of Robin Williams, all points to him).

The ethics and message of this movie are irredeemably flawed. Also it sucks.

A remake of a French comedy -with Hugh Grant. It is as bad as that sounds.

Fairly dire. Unoriginal and unimaginative script which can't even be saved by an injection of Robin Williams. The pace is too slow and the plot (such as it is) has been heard before and better - plus it's fairly predictable. The acting is ok but nothing to set the world on fire. Ok for a long flight if the alternative is any Home Alone movie.

Ok.. I admit the race to the hospital is what rated this so high. I haven't laught so hard in a long time. Otherwise it would have been a 30 instead of a 59 for me.

It was bad even without the whole Divine Brown scandal.

Actually pretty hilarious! Unfortunately the film seemed like it couldn't decide what it wanted to be, slapstick, or philosophical and sweet. Happily, the later won out most of the time. A few plot points felt too drastic and over the top, but overall the underlying message is good and some of the lines are hilarious! Plus, I adored both Cusack and Williams!

This is a somewhat funny movie. Grant and Moore perform as expected as the sweet expecting couple, but it is in the supporting cast that the movie excels. Arnold, Cusack and Goldblum are funny, but Robin Williams completely steals the spotlight whenever he is present as the east european OBGYN Dr. Kosevich. I give it 40 points for the film, 10 points for Robin Williams and another 10 points for Grant and Arnold beating up a man dressed as a green Barneylike dinasaur.

Grant's knack for clumsy befuddlement fits well with the warm, fuzzy style of Columbus. This doesn't go out on any limbs, but is a pleasant diversion anyway. Grant's RL arrest makes this a lot funnier
