aka Mystery of Chessboxing, this is a classic old school flick. Mark and Jack Long are great.

Starts off with some fun martial arts demonstrations and fights just to get things started right. This is one of those numerous Drunken Master clones that came out in the late'70s to early '80s. However this is one of the better ones. At least half of the jokes land which is a high percentage for this type of film. The stunts, fights, and cinematography were all well done and quite entertaining. The story itself is nothing special but its enough to keep things moving between the fights.

Final fight is great, but quite boring until the end. So much faffing around without moving the plot forward. Doesn't feel like the hero earned his skills, he just suddenly has them. And chess has nothing to do with it unfortunately. Overall not a very polished story. Jack Lung is good though as always. At least they sprinkle in fights all throughout instead of one at the start and one at the end.

AKA The Mystery of Chessboxing (a much better title, especially since there are no ninja's to be seen). The team behind 7 Grandmasters get together again for one of the greatest oldskool kung fu flicks. The final fight with the Ghostface Killer is a contender for best ever.

Ghost face killer is a great villain - he just pops up out of nowhere, makes these snarky remarks as he devastates opponents. The rest of the movie is ok, the training sequences don't stand out all the much, but the fight choreography is consistently excellent.
