No Highway in the Sky

Jimmy Stewart once again proves himself one of the all-time greats, as I cannot imagine any other actor making his role work. Marlene Dietrich is wonderfully subtle and elegant.Fast-paced and really intelligent. Great acting beyond the leads, too - the captain is terrific, ditto Glynis Johns who looks exactly like Jane Wyman and sounds exactly like Jean Arthur.

Probably the most entertaining of the serious airplane movies. Good acting by all involved, with Jimmy Stewart in his geekiest role. Glynis Johns is great as the stewardess, and Marlene is the picture of elegance as--what else?--a famous Holywood star.

Fairly straightforward scientist-with-grave-warning movie. Nowadays he'd be sent to Gitmo for much less. Really stupid ending. Fav scene: the little girl acts her heart out describing her school experience.

Unique thriller with yet another great performance by James Stewart.

Jimmy, my guy! Has anyone ever said how much of a good actor he is??? Well, I’m gonna say it one more time! I adored his character here, quirky and shy science dude for the win, along with some great scenes with the queen Marlene Dietrich that pushed this good premise into very good territory :)

It's James Stewart & Marlene Dietrich and all that, but the story in a way didn't seem too appealing... but it was! I was absorbed, even if it didn't necessary have the traditional approach. Just a man insisting he'd come to the right conclusion... or did he do a wrong calculation somewhere and ruined his career? That sort of thing, with some air drama added. There was a heavy respectful tone to the whole thing. Even in romance. And Glynis Johns was a key ingredient of that.
