And per usual a Robert N. Bradbury movie is not even close to being a masterpieces. It's just passable action fixes for the matinée crowd with close to no artistic elements what-so-ever, just shooing the action and hoping it fits together (sometimes it doesn't like in the fighting scenes). But sure, you get your dose of fist fights, shooting and riding, so that part is covered. And naturally his son ends up the hero.... without really shining thanks to dads poor directing.
