Slow start, but this movie got better with the introduction of conflict in the form of a meddling other woman.

Starts out like a conventional screwball comedy before it halfway goes closer to precode days as far as sanctity of marriage goes. The first half no doubt worked best. That's where James Stewart & Rosalind Russell can do what works best for them... the rest feels out of character, especially when Stewart is concerned. But it's still Stewart & Russell we're talking about, so it's got to be good!
