Who the hell leaves a baby carriage unattended outside a store in a big city?? But it's a liquor store, so a bad result is to be expected (the evils of drink, dontcha know). Moralizing melodrama about the evils of premarital sex.One doesn't care about any of the characters much because the by-the-numbers writing produced cartoons rather than real people. Sally Forrest did not have the experience (or acting ability) to carry the picture...unfortunately, neither did anyone else involved.

Ida Lupino's directorial debut. Not the best way to display her skills behind the camera. The film serves as more of a social message than one with a commercial appeal. Her European roots shows, with its more somber tones. Not one that strikes you right away, but you can sense a deeper connection over time without it necessary being likable experience. Becomes a cross between those cheap US exploitation dramas and the more classic central European glimpse of life films of the 1930s.
