Truly bizarre and impossible to describe, this forgotten oddity doesn't strike every target, but has considerable charm, fun cameos and doesn't outstay it's welcome. Sam Jaffe is delightful as Father Knickerbocker.

Painfully primitive in filmmaking, but still quite fun at times.

Watched this for Bill Murray, but didn't get to see much of him. Some interesting moments, but not quite over the top enough to really succeed.

I'm not enough of a cinephile to get the myriad references to movies I should have been watching instead of Universal Soldier sequels funded with money earned selling the tears of Romanian orphans to unlicensed apothecaries in Little China. However, that isn't to say that Nothing Lasts Forever wasn't good. It was...er...black and white?

Honestly a brilliant film. One that could have gone on much longer than it was allowed. The story truly touches me, personally, as an aspiring artist (of a different breed). Besides this, it's olden-style charm, and odd science-fiction feel, put this among few as one of my favorite movies.

A pretty bizarre expressionist timepiece. It's like the dystopia of Metropolis meets the comedy of Brazil meets the surrealness of A Trip To The Moon. Its obvious nods to a long list of classics immediately makes it a cult film for cinephiles. No wonder MGM had no clue what to do with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QmOWbFqKlw#t=30

Technically astounding, and the idea is in the right place, but too much of Nothing Lasts Forever feels rushed and unfinished.

A truly bizarre little fantasy, suppressed by MGM for various reasons. It deals with a young artist (Zach Galligan) in a NYC ruled by the Port Authority, who finds himself burdened with an artistic mission--and finds himself on his way to the Moon. Uneven, to be sure, but it boasts plenty of imagination and pulls off quite a satisfactory conclusion. It's even a bit touching. Tom Schiller's inexperience and enthusiasm are both felt, but solid acting and cameos by Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd help.
