I really enjoyed the concept of the film and the script is very funny. ...in parts. Other parts drag: there's literally nothing but these two characters and this house, and the movie spins its wheels to fill time here and there. The mounting problems that make them wish the world away are hilarious -- Gordon Pinsent in particular has one short scene where he steals the film. It could have executed its concept a bit better, but as is it's still visually clever, and very original. Worth a look.

Ultimately this movie is pretty cheesy and somewhat annoying, the writing isn't that great but I couldn't help but love the concept overall. I think this is just a fun movie and if you don't put too many expectations into it I think it can be a rewarding and enjoyable experience. Even as whacky as it is.

Low budget Canadian comedy with a really clever premise about two guys who can erase objects and people from reality with a thought. It's got a great set up and some funny gags, but it drags through a few sections. Unfortunately, the movie paints itself into a corner by the ending, and exactly what you expect to happen happens.

A film with a brilliant concept and some very fun scenes with a fantastic initial buildup. Unfortunately it does begin to drag and would've benefit from having a third of the running time cut.

I can hardly even begin to explain what's wrong with this movie. But I'll try. Every performance, without exception, is awful. Stagy and inauthentic in the worst possible way. Jokes are explained fairly often. "The ground feels like Tofu..." is the joke, "...which tastes like nothing" is explaining the joke. "Everyone's dead," [picks up phone], "it's dead" is the joke. "I told you everyone's dead" is explaining the joke. The script is just awful. Such a great concept, such a shit movie.

It's the anti-House of Leaves, like Fargo is the anti-film noir.

From my memory of watching this a decade ago, it is self-consciously odd (and yet not all that unpredictable in the narrative's trajectory). At the whimsical end of surreal but not without attraction, and sometimes amusing as it works through the consequences of the relation and premise. This score may be an overrating, however.

Good idea but script with characters loose it too often...

this movie proves that not every awesome idea can or should even attempt to make the jump from concept to film. not seen much from natali but from what i have seen he appears to have a lot of trouble with endings.

With just two so-so actors, a turtle named Stan who should've gotten more to do, and a simplistically cunning premise, this cheap-looking but inspired philosophical black comedy from Canada may grow a little tiresome but it's constantly inventive in finding implications of the characters' inexplicable newfound power.
