What do you do when you're a red-haired teenage loser with no friends except for an older guy, your shrink? When everyone hates you, especially your family? When all your peers make fun of you and kick you around? The answer: you and your loser buddy blow all the cash you can get your hands on to buy a sportscar, you dress smart and you head for the land of redheads, Ireland. But what starts off as a search for an ideal, gradually escalates into a rampage of hate, violence and self-destruction.

A road movie that runs out of road. This is a well acted Vincent Cassel movie. There's red all around and especially in the head of him. He's marvellous. And as they compared in one review, two companions are like guys in Flight Club. Maybe they are one and same. Maybe Vincent was Olivier as a teenager. Same angst, same hate inside of him. And Ireland is like Brazil in Terry Gilliam movie, an ideal land that does not exist. Except in the minds of readheds.

Bir sosyopat ile hayat gecirmek ister misiniz? Modern toplum denilen seyden tiksiniyor musunuz? Bir de nihilist iseniz sizin filminiz buradaymis demektir. Film tamamen su mantik uzerine kurulmus: davranislerimdan rahatsiz mi oluyorsun? Guzel, boyle daha fazla davranmaliyim o zaman. Seveni fazla yoktur bu filmin ama ben seviyorum.

I always thought Romain Gavras should make a movie, because his music videos has style and something personal about them. When I heard that he make a road movie starring Cassel my expectation have risen even higher. Finally, I saw it, and it's cynical, nihilistic, pretentious nonsense. Thanks, Romain, now go back to make videos with exploding gingers.

subat 2011, ifistanbul 2011 & ergen bunalimi ofkesiyle dolu bir yonetmenin filmi. fazla ofkeli bu nedenle fazla dengesiz bir film. eklektik yapisi bir kere seyirciyi filmden uzaklastiriyor. karakterler cok ayriksi ve hic derinine inilmemis. cok havada kalmis bir film. zaman kaybi.

An hour and a half passes by and nothing has changed... It could have been a lot but isn't very much. Sad but true, cause I expected more. Cassel is solid as always, but the boy, who by the way isn't very redheadish, (and why wouldn't they choose a proper redhead when that is the catalyst of the film?) is just annoying! Still, it touches upon other themes which are interesting and it is what lies beneath that saves it from complete failure.

Gavras adamım Gatlif'ten sonra ne çekse sorgusuz izleyeceğim ikinci insan babasına oranla bambaşka şeyler çeken adam. Film o kadar güzel ve saçmaydı ki bu ciddiyetteki filmi kahkaha ile izlettirdi bana. sofie'nin dünyasındaki gibi biz kimiz diye sordurup duruyor film, kilise sahnesindeki gibi hasta olan aslında bizler miyiz, normaller mi?
