Nuit #1

The writing hits uncomfortably hard. Perfectly capturing the anxieties and bitterness of early adult life and dating. A must for fans of the Before series, especially those who couldn't be fucked to travel to Europe for no reason.

For a film attempting nothing less than a pure discourse on Problems Between Men and Women (or at least twentysomethings), this is understandably both kind of amazing and borderline pretentious at the same time (even if it's essentially about stripping away pretense and revealing yourself truthfully to another person). It sort of feels like a composite of every really intense conversation with a girlfriend i've ever had, but is also sort of uncinematic for that very reason.

This movie shows you, that you are not alone. It's a gift!

Kiarostami'yi animsatan bir sinema tavriyla tek gecelik iliski uzerinden varolussal bir bunalimi anlatiyor. 21yy hastaligi. Albert Camus, Nuit 1'i izleyeseydi cok severdi. Film basli basina varolus felsefesindeki 'absurd' (sacma) kavraminin karsiligi. Nuit 1'de canimi en acitan kisim, kizin catidan asagi bakarken okula yapilan gecisti. Kiz, sisyphus olmayi o an kabul etti.

There is a strong aspiration to experience this type of openness between two young and bitter souls. A certain purity captured in it's dialogue, let's the film resonate with how wonderfully lonely this moment can feel and yet, be shared..
