Oasis of the Zombies

70 minutes of nothing followed by 10 minutes of the worst zombie "action" ever put to film. What the Franco?

Ridiculously incompetent but through inexplicable directing it reaches a level of uncanny absurdity that in itself is kinda interesting. There really was some vision behind all this. The endless repetition of same shots, the heavily sedated acting, the randomly composed score, the insanely convoluted story with pointless characters & plot-lines, the incoherently filmed action and the bizarre location all add up to its weird magic. Hilarious at times but mostly like trying to fight off a coma.

Completely inept but under Jess Franco's direction far more fun and watchable then it has any right to be! As a zombie film, it fails on all levels (abysmal special effects, zero gore, not even remotely scary) but as a trashy exotic travelogue its rather entertaining with beautiful desert locations and charmingly stupid characters.

Terrible.
