It's certainly an interesting documentary that really only focuses on the creation of an item and doesn't really touch on the immense amount of garbage our robust fascination with acquiring more new stuff is created. It admits there is a problem but doesn't go any further. I found it really perplexing to find out that some of the item designers are exactly how you would perceive expressionist artists who reject the mainstream and capitalism to be. Real switch of values there.

Cool film, but it suffered from having no real opposition. Helvetica included thoughts from people that disliked the font. "Everyone likes design, because design is super cool" is basically the plot of objectified. Still enjoyed it, because I love looking at pretty things.

I learned from watching this that someone actually designed all that crap we have in our homes! Fascinating!!

Interesting insights into the world of object design, but I found there was too much time spent on talking heads of lofty designers with abstract ideas about the industry they work in, and not enough technical depth or concrete examples. Would love to see it "Michael Moore-ified", with someone taking bad design back to the designers and holding them to account. Also wanted to see the results of them reinventing the toothbrush as an eco-friendly object.

I really enjoyed watching it, but looking back, it really didn't tell me anything I didn't know before. I suppose it was just nice to hear experts in their field talk about it. Recommended for anyone that enjoyed Helvetica.

This doc on industrial design tried to cover much bigger ground than Hustwit's Helvetica, and I think it meandered too much as a result. Flipping through stacks of design magazines for 75 minutes would probably have been more enjoyable.

At least 75% of the people in this movie are completely delusional.
