It's mysterious and builds an atmosphere well, but it feels a bit long. I was left confused by what exactly was happening though, in the end. But they did a good job with very limited means and movie sets. The acting was decent for this level

One part Eraserhead, two parts Rear Window with a dash of J-horror and a pinch of Antichrist. Its main downfall is that it's all setup and no story, so it quickly devolves into symbol-heavy obscurantism. Don't get me wrong the acting and the cinematography is topnotch, but it doesn't quite commit to either Lynchian surrealism or Hitchcockian mystery. Instead, it straddles the two and opts to say something conveniently vague so that an overly reflective viewer might mistake it for profound.
