Oddsac

I don't remember much of this film (for obvious reasons), but I did see this before I become a fan of Animal Collective, so I think the need for a re-watch is on the table. UPDATE: more enjoyable now than I'm a fan, though this may be the last good set of music to come from this band.

Merriweather Post Pavilion and Strawberry Jam are incredible albums you should try listening to immediately. Oddsac is a step down from that list. Like a lot of abstract movies, there's individual moments that are visually interesting but I mostly felt bored or disconnected.

I wish all films were this refreshing and mindblowing.

A few segments I really enjoyed, but others were like being stuck in an endless looping void with loud vibrating hums. I love the 'all over the place' nature of it though. The music isn't anywhere near their best from my first impression, but there is a ton of diversity and sounds like a meld of most their previous work. Very interesting stuff to say the least, puts you in a trance. Take drugs.
