Of Human Bondage

Warner Bros' 1946 remake of RKO's Of Human Bondage (1934), seemingly mostly ripping-off the original film version of W. Somerset Maugham's novel. Probable a much more polished movie, but there's one thing that differentiate them. The '34 version had that Bette Davis performance. Regardless if her approach in that film suits your sensitivities or not, there's no denying it's memorable. And seeing Eleanor Parker mimic that performance, all I could think was "She's no Bette Davis".
