A woman at work recently said, "Someone's got a case of the Monday's" and I replied, "Thank God, you've seen Office Space?" She then said, "What's that?, a YouTube Influencer?" and I seriously almost lost my shit like I was dealing with the goddamn fax machine. I saw this as a kid and knew nothing. I see this as an adult and know too much. The world has become the waking nightmare and Gibbons should be a Prophet of the coming Revolution.

This is better than FIGHT CLUB--another 1999 movie that satirized how Corporate America can alter someone's psychology. It uses its small picture aesthetic as a strength via a claustrophobic environment more dystopian than anything in BRAZIL. It works as a comedy (with great quotes & Superman 3 references), but takes on a whole new life for anyone who has been in a similar situation. I mean, for God's sake, the lead actor says workers stop him on the street to say the film changed their lives!

Really overrated, I mean honestly why the fuck is this movie held in such high regard? It is a amusing film and that's honestly it, not a classic by any means that so many people make it out to be. And fuck anyone that quotes that retarded guy in it about his stapler or whatever, seriously goddammit.

The first time I saw this I was a cocky teen who never thought I would be stuck in an office. 15 years later and I am stuck in an office. While it makes the jokes funnier because I can now relate to them, I'm not positive it's worth the awfulness that is my "career." Teenage me would hate current me.

A cult/sleeper hit, Office Space is a terrifically original comedy about a mundane life and how it becomes less so. Everyone can relate to it somehow, and thanks to sharp humor and characters that are so stereotypical that they have become original and memorable, Office Space is one of the best comedies of the 90's. Awesome!

Live action Dilbert. The most quoted film in the last 10 years (except for this one time, in band camp...) If you work in IT, you must go see this movie. If you work in a cubicle environment, you must go see this movie, unless you have to work this Saturday. Yeah, and I'm gonna need you to come in SUnday too...

I have never worked in an office setting, but I can totally relate to the main character's wishes of wanting to do absolutely nothing with his days, and that simple fact, combined with Office Space's quirky characters, makes this one of the most iconic cult comedies ever made. This is one of those "we all know someone like this" movies that everyone should see at some point in their lives. Mike Judge is a genius for things like this and it shows here. Truly a one of a kind film.

The corporate office culture satire of the first half is pure gold (see the TPS reports gag, Cole's outrageous Lumbergh, poor Milton's marvelous mumbling, Peter's unexpected promotion, the consultants). It loses a bit of its unique flavour once a plot is introduced (could have done without the relationship drama), but still entertains. Bonus points for the two gangsta rap-backed slow-motion montages of Peter not giving a fuck and then the three smashing the photocopier in the field.

"Work sucks" and if you've had such a thought or unhappiness at work, it is your duty to see this movie. It just might give you the inspiration you need to do something that doesn't suck your life away, killing you an hour at a time. Update: First watched in '99, and again randomly over the years, and now in 2021. It holds up and is still a great movie.

This movie appealed to my inner cubicle whore. It wasn't so much that the jokes were funny, but that I understood them on such a deep (painful?) level of personal experience. A generic office, in a generic building, with a generic name (such as 'Innodata' or 'Datatech') that slowly sucks the joy out of waking in the mornings; if you've ever endured the soul molesting, bitch of a dream thief that is corporate America, this movie will wrap its arms around you and say "There, there."

A very nice comedy with many many original jokes. I can't help but smile even now when I remember the assault to the printer. But still, I think it is not the comedy part that excels most for me. It is the office life. So easy to identify with. Probably it made me feel that I am not the only one who is suffering in office and helped me find some comfort about my discomfort. Admit it we've all wanted to do that to a printer at some time in our life. Office Space is a classic that teaches you everything you need to succeed in business. Be yourself, slack off, don't work hard and bang Jennifer Aniston... okay I don't know about the first three but the last one seems to work alright, just ask Adam Duritz, Brad Pitt, Vince Vaughn and John Mayer. So what would I do with a million dollars? Two chicks at once, man - and one of them is Jennifer Aniston.

The first half hour or so of this film is such iconic, biting, perfect satire of American corporate life I could think of no way to improve it. Unfortunately, the movie then (as most movies do) decides it needs to have a plot and almost immediately becomes less interesting and relatable. Not to say that it isn't quotable and funny the whole way through, though. Gotta love Mike Judge (though his greatest creative success of course was on TV, not in movies, with King of the Hill).

The blend of dry white-collar scenarios with hardcore rap is in itself brilliant. Anyone who's felt frustrated with their job at some point can relate to Peter Gibbons, and watching him spiral into a "model employee" that does nothing is almost inspirational. That being said, the last half of the film runs a little sour, but the laughs are good up until the very end.

It may have become overrated by some over the years, but "Office Space" is still pretty good. It is relatively well written with plenty of solid, if not extraordinary performances, and some intelligently fleshed out and relatable characters. Its real strength however comes from two or three really very funny and very memorable scenes that really stick with you. A deserved cult classic, but not a true classic.

It's hilarious, no doubt. But, like all things Mike Judge, I get annoyed by how the score wants to lull me into a bored sleep. I know it's a dumb complaint, but it stands out as terrible in this otherwise basically perfect movie. It's also a great movie to show to people who work in an office and haven't yet had the pleasure of getting to know Lawrence, Lumberg, or Milton.

An office 'comedy'. Yeah, you know the type. About as funny as finding a large boil on the old chap in the morning. (Viewed on 08/02/13): Judge's satire of office politics and the proletarianization of work is seriously overrated, but it does make some astute observations about the absolute tedium of repetitive mind numbing labour and the resentment it fosters in the lower orders who lack a sense of purpose in modern bureaucracies. Livingston is likeable as a corporate drone who conspires with Herman to rip off the company they work for, and there are a few good characters and memorable lines.

Surprisingly warm and witty comedy about the drudgery of office work is at its best in the first half, with Judge making all too relatable observations on the sometimes Orwellian nature of the day-to-day grind; much like its forebearer 9 TO 5, the second half runs slightly aground, covering a more familiar romantic subplot (though Livingston and Aniston are a cute couple) and taking too many absurdist narrative turns. Still great fun with a terrific cast; Cole is the epitome of "polite" smarm.

It's carried by its understated cast and the film's best jokes land because they don't try to overstay their welcome.
